Mental problems are still linked with a certain stigma, even though our society is more enlightened nowadays. Suffering the symptoms of a psychiatric illness can be bad enough. It can therefore be quite difficult to take those first steps to find a suitable Psychiatrist.
Due to the fast pace of life, pressure and stress is all around us. Everyone reacts to challenges, problems and situations in a different way. Some people are able to cope better than others. Because everyone is individual, the type and length of treatment depends on each patient and their circumstances.
My aim is to support and help you back to a healthy life through research evidence based treatments such as CBT and / or tablet treatment.
We find that there are factors that are common to all psychiatric disorders. Here is a list of typical conditions and definitions which may describe how you are feeling.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Have you experienced a serious accident or other traumatic event that you cannot seem to move on from? Do you feel that you are more irritable and hyper-vigilant than before? Do you have nightmares?
Are you feeling anxious to a degree that it interferes with your life? Nervous, sweaty, heart racing and on edge? You may experience these symptoms in specific situations or more or less all of the time.
Depression and anxiety are often connected. Low mood, low in energy and a sense of hopelessness? Perhaps you also experience poor concentration, disturbed sleep and low selfesteem?
Have you experienced unusual things such as seeing or hearing things that nobody else is experiencing? Have you had some strong beliefs that others find difficult to follow? Are you feeling low and unable to keep up with everyday life?
Do you feel overwhelmed, unable to cope and exhausted? Are you not on top of things, but are you letting them get on top of you?
