I've treated a wide range of psychiatric conditions during my career.

I understand that it can be daunting to see a Psychiatrist for the first time and therefore make an effort to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere.

I'm here to help and support you with objective, straightforward advice - without judging you. The first session is generally for me to gather information about your personal story, and for you to gauge if you feel you can work with me. Research evidence has time and again shown that a good therapeutic relationship is essential for positive outcomes.

Background & Experience
I trained in Paris and London before passing the membership exam of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1998.

This was followed by a Diploma in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from Southampton University in 2001.

Three years later, in 2004, I graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from Southampton University. My thesis was on CBT and suicide.

I am currently an early intervention Consultant Psychiatrist, in the Hampshire Partnership Trust.

I write for popular magazines, and have recently made television documentaries on various psychiatric issues (Channel 4. ITV and the BBC).

I appear regularly on BBC Radio Solent to comment on psychological topics such as relationships, happiness and selfesteem.

I have also presented my work at numerous meetings and conferences around the world.

In addition, I have contributed to over 70 scientific articles on Psychiatry in various Journals and have written a book entitled 'Destination Integration' in 2008.

I live and work in the beautiful New Forest in Hampshire and see patients at my private practice in Lyndhurst.
